The 2010 USTA Block Party is set for Saturday, May 22nd from 10 - 2 at MHS.
We'll be having a fund raising party (complete with food, wine/beer, raffles, music & more) at Peter Igo Park on the Saturday evening, July 31, 2010. Be sure to check out Peter Igo's website (www.peterigo.com) for more details as they're confirmed.
Your dues are hard at work yet again providing Court Relief (aka a port-a-potty) at the high school courts.
Fantastic news...the powers that be have finally granted permission for drink vending machines to be installed near the high school courts. All proceeds from the sale of the non-caloric, healthy drinks will go to the MHS Athletic Department to be used expressly for maintenance of the courts. Yipee!
MTC has got preliminary approval to sell net advertising, like you see at the major tennis events, for the high school courts. All monies will be used to repair, resurface and repaint the courts. Yahoo!!
Annual Dues
Marshfield Tennis Club is now incorporated as a non-profit organization which will be funded by nominal annual dues.
Member benefits include:
·Court upkeep
·Organized league play
·Local merchant discounts
·Youth development sponsorship
·Match funds with USTA
The annual fees are $25 for an individual and $50 for a family and are due by May 19, 2009. Thank you to those members who have already joined the club for 2009 and paid their dues.
We are looking for 100% participation in the membership drive. Why? Well in addition to the reasons above, the participation level demonstrates commitment to organizations like the USTA with whom we've got a couple of grants pending. The grants, if received, will allow us to do more for our members and conduct more tennis outreach in the local communities. We can do it!!!
Checks for annual dues should be made payable to Marshfield Tennis Club and mailed:
74 Shawmut Avenue
Marshfield, Ma. 02050
Membership cards (1 year) will be issued upon payment.
